Wingless Bluebush - native (Maireana enchylaenoides)

Family: Chenopodiaceae (Saltbush Family).

Occurrence. Rare. Northern areas e.g at Baringhup.

Maireanas are common and abundant in Mallee and inland regions. Members include the showy bluebushes, and the very common Pearl Bluebush and Sago Saltbush. The disc-shaped petals of these northern bluebushes are often large and brightly coloured.

Identification:

The name "wingless" refers to the vey narrow (compared to the other bluebushes), disc-shaped petals.
