Castlemaine Scent-bark - native (Eucalyptus conferta)

Home.... Menu.... Common name index.... Scientific name index.... Glossary.... Other eucalypts.... Juvenile leaves

Local populations are centred on the area near the intersection of the Vaughan-Drummond Road and Green Gully Road. It has been called the Castlemaine Scent-bark, but Glenluce Scent-bark would be more appropriate. It has also been called the Fryers Ridge Scent-bark, a name which also seem inappropriate.

It was formerly included in Scent Bark (E. aromaphloia). The common name was given because of the eucalyptus scent of the bark - not easy to detect.
