A common weed in disturbed areas.

Identification:

Recognise Cocksfoot from the dense egg-shaped clusters.

It is an environmental weed.

daktylos: finger (Greek), referring to the cylindrical young flower clusters; glomeratus: club-shaped.

1: Recently opened flower cluster can appear finger-like. 3,4: Distinctive bristly, more or less, one-sided flower clusters. The anthers are prominent. All: Castlemaine.
