Family: Myrtaceae (Myrtle family).

Native of Australia.

Occurrence: Widespread and moderately common.

Identification:

Calytrix: weaning calyx hairs, referring to the awns on the sepals.

Photos: 1 , 2 and 3: Castlemaine. 4: Paddys Ranges, Maryborough. The photos show the starry white flowers and the persistent, red-coloured awned sepals.
