Sticky Boronia - native (Boronia anemonifolia subsp. anemonifolia)

Family: Rutaceae.

Native of Australia.

Occurrence: Recorded for only two localities near Castlemaine - at Irishtown and in Muckleford Forest, south of the Red White and Blue Mine.

Identification:

• the flowers are a showy pink with four petals
• the leaves are narrow, sticky, and divided at the tip
• it grows to a medium shrub.

It is not known whether or not these local plants are pioneer populations, or relics of a once more extensive population.
