Ray Water-fern - native (Blechnum fluviatile)

Family: Blechnaceae.

Occurrence. Rare. Ray Water-fern has been recorded on Fryers Ridge.

The leaflets of barren fronds are rounded at the tip. The lower leaflets are shortly stalked and the upper leaflets are broad-based.

Unlike the other water ferns the stalks are covered with hairs and narrow scales.

The fertile fronds are flattened into a rosette.

fluviatile = growing in running water.
