Annual Fern - native (Anogramma leptophylla)
Family: Adiantaceae.
Cosmopolitan.
Occurrence: Rare locally. A single record for the shire, from a mineshaft in Vaughan.
Identification:
- it is small(usually under 5cm), soft, thin-leaved fern
- the small fronds are irregularly branched and resemble parsley.
Elsewhere the fern grows on damp sheltered spots ( e.g. on the shaded banks of streams). It is small and could easily be overlooked.
