Trailing Ground-berry - local native (Acrotriche prostrata)

Family: Ericaceae (Erica family)

Rare. Southern districts.

It was fomerly classified as a member of the Heath Family (the Epacridaceae). This family has now been included in the Erica Family.

Identification:

• It is a prostrate ground cover
• the leaves are held in the one plane, so that they are more or less parallel to the ground.

Trailing Ground-berry was recorded for Fryers Ridge by A. C. Beauglehole during his 1980 surveys. Ern Perkins did not find it in the Castlemaine district.
