Rough Wattle - native (Acacia aspera)


A shrub. Leaves have a conspicuous central vein. The leaves are covered with short, stiff hairs so that the leaves are rough to touch. Flower balls grow from the leaf bases. Flowers in spring. Widespread and common. South of Castlemaine plants may grow to several metres high.

Name: aspera: with a rough surface, referring to the leaves.
